Key Responsibilities:
· Sales Leadership: Through the direct (line reports) and indirect (non-line reports) leadership of the sales team deliver clear direction to the team on:
o delivery of the sales budget
o gaining share in existing customers and profitably expanding distribution of our ranges
o selling in and monitoring (distribution, sell in, sell out and spend) of new launches, promotional programs and marketing initiatives
· Marketing Leadership: Own the development of our brands in the markets and lead the development of the best annual marketing plan we can afford. Work closely with CMO and USA team to implement global and local programs. Ensure Sales team extracts maximum value from the marketing plan.
· Customer Development and Relationships: For the customers for whom you are directly responsible, provide the leadership around the company that focuses our thinking on delivering great in-store results, industry leading shopper marketing and strong customer relationships
· Sales Training: Utilize existing tools and work with CMO to develop new ones. Coach sales team by establishing programs in the areas of account sales and growth, sales of emerging products, profitability, presentation strategies, competitive analysis and management of business/financial subjects
· Management Group: Contribute effectively to the Executive Team by bringing functional expertise and being an effective team member
Required Skills:
1. Show a style that is Ready/Aim/Fire
2. Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to develop strategies that improve market share
3. Bring intellectual rigor to the sales process
4. Have a style that is active and results-oriented
5. Possess problem solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
6. Operate in a small company environment
Education/General Experience:
· University degree preferred, ideally with business content
· Minimum of seven (7) years of equestrian sales experience required
· Experience of implementing marketing programs strongly preferred
· Direct experience of marketing management in addition to Sales a distinct advantage
Technical Sales & Marketing Experience:
Required:
o Major account equestrian sales
o Trade marketing
Preferred:
o Catalog marketing
o Print advertising
o Social media
o Team management
