NAWD Voices saddles up for Ranch Horse Western Dressage education
Join North American Western Dressage on March 17 to learn more about its innovative Ranch Horse Western Dressage program and judging criteria.

Ranch riders and dressage enthusiasts alike are excited to learn more about North American Western Dressage’s innovative new Ranch Horse Western Dressage program as part of the organization’s ongoing educational series, NAWD Voices. Ranch Horse Western Dressage will be featured on the March 17 NAWD Voices program, an easy-to-use, affordable teleconference.

Inspired by the ranch riding classes so popular in stock horse associations, Ranch Horse Western Dressage combines dressage training-scale values with maneuvers used by the working ranch horse, including hesitations, sidepassing, rollbacks and more. Horse and rider must work together to complete a prescribed pattern of maneuvers while showcasing calmness, relaxation, balance, precision, obedience and self-carriage.

NAWD Licensed Judges Julie Slater and Dr. Michael Guerini, Ph.D., will be the featured judges on the March 17 call; they will share a judge’s perspective for this program, breakdown a Ranch Horse Western Dressage video test submission, and answer participants’ questions on this call. NAWD Voices takes place at 7:30 CST and is accessible from anywhere; registered participants will receive the phone number and access code before the meeting.

Participation in each conference call session is $20—the fee is discounted to $10 for current NAWD members. Revenue from these calls helps support NAWD education programs. Details for the conference call will be sent to participants upon registration. Participants on the March 17 NAWD Voices will be entered in a drawing to win a free Ranch Horse Western Dressage virtual test from NAWD.

Future NAWD Voices conference calls will take place April 21, May 19 and June 9. To learn more about upcoming topics and how to register for this conference call series, visit northamericanwesterndressage.org/event/2016-nawd-voices-video-release-date/.
