I can't believe that someone would take a horse's life for some kind of sport. It's like safari trophy hunting here in the States. Incredibly horrible!

A Vermont man is facing multiple charges connected to the shooting death of a horse in Barre.
Earlier this month, police in Barre investigated an owner's report that someone had shot a Quarter Horse with a bow and arrow; the horse died of its wounds. Another horse in the same pasture was unhurt.
Barre City Police Chief Timothy J. Bombardier said wardens from Vermont Fish and Game assisted in the probe and recovered an arrow believed to have been used in the shooting. That arrow, along with a bow, had been reported stolen by their owner, who later identified them, Bombardier said.
On Oct. 27, police arrested Quinton Clayton and charged him with aggravated cruelty to animals and felony unlawful mischief in connection with the killing, Bombardier said.
Clayton was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on charges for selling drugs to a minor on school property, leaving the scene of an accident, and for violation of conditions of release.
Clayton is currently is being held on $10,000 bond, Bombardier said.
He was unavailable for comment.
The case remains pending.
