We had a wonderful time at this year's Equine Affaire in West Springfield MA. The folks at Ranchers Preferred offered an amazing tool for horse care.

The HoofWand™ is a NEW hoof cleaning tool designed to remove dry and wet mud and muck from the hoof. Its non-abrasive material ensures no scratching or damage to the outer wall or coronary band especially during the wed/dry weather cycles. Stop damaging your horses wet and soggy hooves with a traditional hoof pick, use a hoof wand! The HoofWand™ is also the ONLY safe tool on the market to remove snow and ice balls.

Benefits

The frequent cycles of wet and dry conditions (or just persistent wetness) cause the tubules in the hoof wall to absorb water and expand. When the water is released, the tubules contract, creating gaps between the tubules and the inter-tubular material. This continuous process leads to cracks and splits in the hoof walls and erosion of the soles.

These cracks are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria growth. Which it why it is so important to routinely remove the old mud and muck from your horses water soggy hooves. The traditional hoof pick can scratch and damage the soggy hoof, worsening the problem. Use the HoofWand™ to safely remove the bacteria ridden mud and muck.

Features

  • Durable & Non-Abrasive: Protects the hoof wall and coronary band.
  • Strategic Design: Curves effectively clear debris without harm.
  • Versatile Usage: Apply hoof powder to hard-to-reach areas.
  • Textured Surfaces: Loosens dried debris safely.
  • SAFELY Remove Ice Balls and Snow Balls
Ice balls can create various issues for a horse, making movement difficult and leading to other complications:
  • Strains and sprains: The ice balls can put strain on the muscles, tendons, and joints in the horse’s legs.
  • Bruises: The pressure from the ice balls can result in bruising.
  • Hoof cracks: The buildup of ice can lead to cracks in the hooves.
  • Tripping and sliding: Ice balls can hinder the horse's ability to walk properly, increasing the risk of tripping or sliding.

The HoofWand™ is the ONLY safe tool on the market to effectively remove snow and ice balls.
