Tryon International Equestrian Center, Site of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018, to Install “Brooke Breezeway” to Benefit Equine Welfare. Personalized “Brooke Bricks” are on Sale Now

Brooke USA’s sister charity, Brooke, has been named the official charity of WEG, and is the world’s largest international working equine welfare charity. Brooke is dedicated to improving the lives of horses, donkeys, mules, and the people who depend on those animals in the developing world. Brooke has an 84-year history of providing practical, sustainable, and culturally relevant equine welfare programs that even the poorest owners can embrace.

The FEI World Equestrian Games™, which take place every four years, will be hosted at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Tryon, North Carolina, from September 11 – 23, 2018. To commemorate this iconic event and the important service provided by working equines around the world, the Brooke Breezeway will feature “Brooke Bricks” which the public can personalize to support Brooke’s equine welfare programs.

Proceeds from the sale of Brooke Bricks will directly benefit many of the 380,000 horses, donkeys, and mules who work in India’s brick kilns – a particularly harsh environment for equines and their owners. Extreme temperatures, lack of shade, difficult terrain and overloading can cause suffering for horses, donkeys and mules. Disease and injuries are common. Brooke works in 3,245 brick kiln sites offering emergency veterinary treatment and vaccinations for animals, as well as training for their owners and service providers on topics such as injury and disease prevention.

Brooke Bricks, which are manufactured humanely in the United States (no animals are involved) are the perfect opportunity to leave a legacy at the site of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon, 2018, and to benefit these working equines in India’s brick kilns. Bricks can be ordered in memory or in honor of a beloved person, pet, favorite horse, company, to commemorate a special event such as a birthday or anniversary, or to give a company name and logo a permanent presence on this walkway.

Brooke USA’s mission is to significantly improve the welfare of horses, donkeys and mules and the people they serve throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America by raising funds and responsibly directing them to the areas of greatest need. Through the programs that we fund, Brooke USA helps equine owners, service providers, and governments in the developing world to implement scientifically proven, practical, sustainable, and culturally relevant solutions to enormous animal welfare challenges.

Brooke USA raises funds to support a wide variety of programs for working horses, donkeys and mules to help them become (and remain) healthy and happy now and in the long-term, which also benefits the very poor families who depend on those animals to help them earn a living. Most of the programs funded by Brooke USA are directed by Brooke, the world’s largest international equine charity: the leading experts on working equines around the globe. Through a world-wide staff of approximately 1,000 (primarily nationals), Brooke currently operates in 11 countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, and Brooke USA supports many of those programs in addition to others.
