The Retired Racehorse Project (RRP) is accepting proposals for a short-term photography coordinator position to manage the official show photography team at the Thoroughbred Makeover, October 11-14, 2023 at the Kentucky Horse Park, as well as a limited amount of remote work pre- and post-event. The RRP is accepting proposals through July 10th, 2023.

About the Client
The  Retired Racehorse Project  (RRP) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization working to increase demand for off-track Thoroughbreds in the equestrian world. In addition to producing the Thoroughbred Makeover and National Symposium, the world’s largest and most lucrative retraining competition for recently-retired racehorses, the organization also publishes Off-Track Thoroughbred Magazine, produces retraining clinics and demos, and presents programming at major horse expos and events around the country. The RRP maintains an educational library of content to empower more equestrians to ride a Thoroughbred.

ObjectiveTo manage a team of independent photographers covering competition photography and serve as liaison between photographers and the RRP.

Scope and Deliverables•     Before the 2023 Thoroughbred Makeover (remote):•     Work with the RRP communications manager to develop expectations and contracts for photographers•     Develop coverage schedule for the Thoroughbred Makeover•     Get commitments from photographers for the Makeover, to be contracted by the RRP•     Pass on communications from the RRP to the photography team•     At and after the Thoroughbred Makeover:•     Manage photography team day-to-day•     Coordinate immediate photography needs of the RRP•     Liaise between RRP staff and photography team•     Oversee availability of photography for competitor purchase

Timeline and Vendor SelectionThe RRP is accepting proposals through July 10th and expects to choose a contractor by July 21st.
