13 Hands Equine Rescue

Our Mission

We rescue unwanted, abused and abandoned horses and rehabilitate them in order to find them the perfect ‘forever home’. We partner with some of our rescue horses to assist in our Equine Therapy program helping veterans and others who suffer from PTSD, anxiety, depression and many other issues.

Horse Sense

Equine Therapy Program

We are committed to help humans and horses alike, and we believe in the powerful effect of mutual healing through the human-horse relationship. This scientifically proven therapy model is based on the unique qualities of the horse to sense and react to human emotions.

The horses’ way of reacting to our emotions and body language is always immediate, honest, non-judgmental and benevolent.

Splash is an adorable pinto pony. Done with his days of pulling a cart, he has spent a lot of time being a horse and enjoying his time with his pasture mates. Will you bring him home and make him trust humans again?
