EMMETT, ID–MAY 1, 2024–Longtime Idaho horseman Clayton Howard Russell passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at a hospital in Boise, Idaho. 

A celebration of Clayton’s remarkable life will be held at Willow Grove Events Center, located at 4131 W. Central Rd. in Emmett, Idaho on June 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm (MDT), commemorating the profound impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.  Services are in under the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.

Four Sweet Kid Gets Second Career Win In $65,574 Desert Classic Futurity

PHOENIX, AZ—MAY 1, 2024—Second fastest qualifier from the trials, Four Sweet Kid returns to Turf Paradise for his second career win in the finals of the $65,575 Desert Classic Futurity Wednesday afternoon.

Jockey Alan Hernandez piloted Four Sweet Kid to his 3/4-length victory in :15.543 seconds clocking a 97 speed index. He got the jump out of the gates and didn't look back for a wire-to-wire lead to the finish line. The post-time favorite's winning time paid $3.00 to win on a $2.00 wager.Read More

Revised Qualifying Times Posted For The John Deere and Adequan Derby Challenges At Sam Houston

HOUSTON, TX–APRIL 25, 2024–On Friday, April 19, Sam Houston Race Park hosted six trials for the John Deere Juvenile Challenge(G3) as well as three trials for the Adequan Derby Challenge, with the ten fastest qualifiers advancing to the final on Friday, May 10.

The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) contacted Sam Houston Race Park on Monday morning to inform the northwest Houston racetrack about a discrepancy in the validity of the reported qualifying times for the John Deere Juvenile Challenge.
