Since my daughter has has taken lessons with Tabitha, she has not only learned how to ride, but she is also learning about how to care and respect these horses, and what it means to form a real horsemanship bond with them as well. I have witnessed my daughter blossom under Tabitha's guidance and could not recommend her more!

    Common questions we get asked

    FAQS

    Common Questions

    • How does your rescue program work?

LSCF Rescue Program focuses on the rescue, recovery, rehabilitation and re-homing of horses whose lives we save, often just in the nick of time.

These horses will stay at Long Shadows Farm long enough to get ready for a new home, and with our blessing, move on to a bright future.

    • How does your sanctuary program work?

LSCF Sanctuary horses come to us to retire-- from professional racing, the police force, summer camps--you name it.

Sanctuary horses find their "forever home" at LSF, and are here to stay. These horses enjoy a lot of R&R and often find renewed purpose as companions or equine therapists.

    • How can I get involved?

By donating money or time, or by signing up for a program, camp or lessons.

At Long Shadows we welcome volunteers at the farm and remotely. Or, if you choose to sponsor a horse, you can visit your horse and spend time with him or her.

Volunteering at the farm could be in horse care, fundraising, cleaning, greeting visitors, raking, grooming horses, or general maintenance.

Remote volunteers can help get horse care supplies donated.

Maybe you have a special skill to share!

    • How will my donation be spent?

All donations are used for horse care purposes.

    • Do you offer tours of your farm?

Yes, contact us by phone or email.
